Civil BIM Modeler – Roads & Infrastructure

Position Title : Civil BIM Modeler – Roads & Infrastructure Department : Digital Delivery / BIM Reports To : BIM Manager – Digital Delivery Works Closely With : Design & Site Engineers, Surveyors, QA/QC, Document Control, Consultant & Client BIM teams Location :Qiddiya, Riyadh – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (site / office based) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Civil BIM Modeler – Roads & Infrastructure to join our Digital Delivery team for the Qiddiya – Public Realm & Infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, coordinating and delivering information-rich Autodesk Civil 3D models for roads, grading, drainage and underground utilities, from design coordination through to LOD 500 As-Built and asset handover. This role is ideal for a technically strong Civil 3D professional with a tool-builder mindset, particularly someone experienced in Dynamo automation, Content Catalog Editor, custom Civil 3D parts, property sets and BIM information management. Key Responsibilities Road & Corridor Modeling • Develop horizontal alignments, vertical profiles and super elevation in accordance with project design criteria and applicable standards. • Build and manage corridors, assemblies, regions and targeting for carriageways, medians, kerbs, footpaths, cycle tracks, parking and hardscape areas. • Model intersections, roundabouts, ramps, driveways and tie-ins to existing ground. • Create feature-line-based grading and surfaces. • Develop custom subassemblies using Subassembly Composer where required. • Produce finished-ground, datum and pavement-layer surfaces and undertake earthworks volume calculations. Underground Utilities & Drainage • Model gravity networks including stormwater and sewer systems. • Model pressure networks including potable water, irrigation, TSE and fire-water systems. • Model manholes, catch basins, chambers, valve boxes, thrust blocks and headwalls. • Check network connectivity, slopes, inverts, cover and clearances. • Coordinate utilities against road, structural and MEP models and support clash resolution. Content Catalog & Parts Management • Create, edit and maintain Civil 3D pressure pipe content catalogs using Content Catalog Editor (.SQLite). • Manage pipes, fittings, valves and appurtenances with correct sizes, materials and pressure classes. • Create and maintain custom gravity pipe and structure parts using Part Builder. • Maintain project Parts Lists in accordance with approved material submittals. • Embed asset codes, classifications, manufacturers and material parameters into catalog parts. • Control catalog versions and distribute approved content through the CDE. Dynamo & Automation • Develop and maintain Dynamo for Civil 3D workflows, including Python/CPython3 nodes. • Automate repetitive activities such as: • Property Set and COBie data population from Excel/Asset Registers. • Quantity take-off extraction. • Model health and naming-convention checks. • Automated labelling and point creation. • Sheet and view-frame generation. • Document scripts with purpose, inputs, outputs and version information. BIM Delivery, QA/QC & Information Management • Develop models in accordance with the project EIR, BEP, LOD/LOIN requirements and Digital Delivery standards. • Apply ISO 19650 naming conventions and information container requirements. • Manage Data Shortcuts and model federation. • Support IFC 4.x exports and property mapping. • Prepare federated models in Navisworks and coordinate issues through Revizto. • Perform model self-QA before submissions, including: • Surface integrity • Alignment/profile continuity • Pipe connectivity • Property completeness • Coordinate system compliance • Close consultant/client review comments within agreed timelines. • Update models to LOD 500 As-Built using survey data, redlines and inspection records. • Support Asset Register and COBie handover. • Produce plan/profile, cross-section and detail sheets using Civil 3D Plan Production and Sheet Set Manager. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement • Publish and share models through Autodesk Construction Cloud / Aconex following WIP → Shared → Published workflows. • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and support RFI/clash resolution. • Communicate technical/model issues clearly with design and site teams. • Mentor junior modelers. • Contribute to BIM templates, standards, automation tools and lessons learned. Technical Requirements • Autodesk Civil 3D: Expert level – alignments, profiles, corridors, grading, surfaces and super elevation. • Gravity & Pressure Networks: Advanced. • Content Catalog Editor: Advanced. • Part Builder / Parts Lists: Advanced. • Dynamo for Civil 3D: Advanced, including packages such as Civil3DToolkit/Camber and Python nodes. • Property Sets & COBie: Advanced. • Navisworks / Revizto: Working level. • ACC / Aconex: Working level. • IFC 4.x: Working knowledge. • ISO 19650 / BEP / LOIN: Working knowledge. Desirable • Subassembly Composer. • Infraworks / ArcGIS / GIS workflows. • Revit coordination. • Python, Excel VBA or Power BI. • Experience with LOD 500 As-Built and asset handover. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil BIM Modeler / Civil 3D Specialist. • Minimum 3 years of experience on road/highway infrastructure projects. • Demonstrable experience delivering Civil 3D road corridors and underground utility networks. • Proven experience creating/editing Civil 3D content catalogs and custom parts. • Practical experience developing Dynamo for Civil 3D scripts. • Strong written and spoken English. Desirable Experience • Experience on Saudi giga-projects or major GCC infrastructure projects, such as Qiddiya, NEOM, Red Sea Global, ROSHN or Diriyah. • Autodesk Certified Professional – Civil 3D for Infrastructure Design. • ISO 19650 awareness/certification. • Experience with LOD 500 As-Built models, Asset Registers and COBie handover. • Arabic language skills. • Valid KSA driving license. • Transferable Iqama.

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil BIM Modeler / Civil 3D Specialist. Minimum 3 years of experience on road/highway infrastructure projects. Demonstrable experience delivering Civil 3D road corridors and underground utility networks. Proven experience creating/editing Civil 3D content catalogs and custom parts. Practical experience developing Dynamo for Civil 3D scripts. Strong written and spoken English.
