Title: Chief Risk Officer Location: Qatar About the Company Our client is a well-established financial services institution in Qatar with a diversified business across corporate, commercial and retail markets. It is entering its next phase of growth and is putting a strong, forward-looking risk function at the centre of its strategy. Key Responsibilities • Own the enterprise-wide risk agenda, setting strategy, policy and budget across financial and non-financial risk • Design, embed and keep refining the risk management framework, including risk appetite, measurement, monitoring and control • Bring global best practice into risk governance, including full alignment with Basel III • Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board committees, with clear, timely and forward-looking risk reporting • Lead the credit, market and liquidity risk functions, including credit portfolio oversight and recovery • Oversee operational resilience, covering operational risk, information security and business continuity • Monitor capital adequacy, regulatory change and market movements, and step in early when the risk profile shifts • Build strong, credible relationships with regulators and key external stakeholders • Make sure audit and compliance findings are closed out properly and internal controls keep getting stronger • Lead, develop and retain a high-performing risk team, with succession planning and a culture of accountability and integrity Requirements • 15+ years in risk management within financial services, including senior leadership of a multi-discipline risk function • Broad expertise across credit, market, liquidity and operational risk, with solid exposure to technology and cyber risk • In-depth working knowledge of Basel II/III, capital adequacy and regulatory frameworks • Proven track record of building or transforming a risk framework at enterprise level • Experience engaging with Boards, Board committees and regulators at the highest level • Comes from a mature, established institution, with GCC or international exposure a plus Show more Show less
