We are looking for a Chief Accountant for a Chemical manufacturing client in Jebel Ali. Interfunctional Coordination The Senior Accountant interacts with and coordinates daily activities with: • Finance Manager • Plant manager • Purchase manager • HR manager • Sales Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Accountant’s duties shall include but not be limited to the following: • Handle the full spectrum of transaction accounting, e.g., Payments, Receipts, Credit/Debit Notes, Expenses, and Journal Vouchers. • Handle Cash & Bank management role that includes Petty Cash, Bank Reconciliations, and monthly cash flow forecasts. • Monthly reconciliation of suppliers & customer balances with in-house ageing/SOAs as well as with supplier and customer SOAs respectively. • Distribute reconciled SOAs to customers by the end of every month and adhere to follow-up protocol through email reminders, phone, or in-person visits. • Negotiate and build better relations with suppliers for competitive rates and better payment terms. • Prepare and enter month-end schedules in the system, such as depreciation, prepayments, accruals, and provisions, and keep the Excel record updated. • Assist the Finance Manager in closing the books of accounts every month under strict deadlines. • Prepare and submit management reports every month to the Finance Manager, such as PDC listings, Sales Analysis, Trial balance ratio analysis, updated shareholders’ current accounts, Purchase cost analysis, AP & AR ageing, and collection report. • Manage Trial balance, highlight areas of possible errors, and do ratio analysis. • Assist external auditors with stock take, sample selection, and managerial declarations for a seamless audit. • Calculate and prepare salaries and process through WPS. • Calculate and file quarterly VAT returns, and ensure RCM is reconciled with tax authorities. • Performing other responsible tasks as delegated by the Finance Manager & Managing Director. • Other responsibilities such as bank and client visits, record keeping and filing documents on a timely basis, writing down and keeping records of meeting minutes, and coordination with other departments. Reporting documents • Cash flow projection - weekly and monthly • Payment calendar – weekly and monthly • PDC and account statements for all clients – weekly • Shareholders current accounts – monthly • Purchases summary, AP & AR Ageing and collection reports – weekly • Trial balance analysis – monthly • Sales & Purchase Analysis – monthly Work experience requirements • Min 5 years' relevant experience in financial & management accounting, particularly in retail, FMCG or Manufacturing is preferred. • Relevant experience in audit and costing is advantageous. • Excellent priority tasking skills and able to interact with all levels. • Good MS Office skills, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel. • Able to work independently and highly meticulous.
