In this role, you will work closely with the Project Controls Director and management, engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, contracts, finance, and client representatives to assess the impact of changes and support informed project decision-making. What You'll Be Doing Project Controls Management • Establish and implement project controls procedures, systems, tools, and reporting requirements. • Develop and maintain the project control baseline, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, and key performance indicators. • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the integrated master schedule. • Ensure that project budgets, commitments, actual costs, forecasts, and cash flows are accurately maintained. • Monitor project performance against approved cost and schedule baselines. • Review schedule updates, progress reports, cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses. • Ensure timely identification of trends, deviations, risks, and opportunities. • Coordinate the preparation of monthly project performance reports and executive dashboards. • Ensure consistent reporting across project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. • Lead the development of recovery plans for projects experiencing cost, schedule, or performance issues. • Support earned value management, productivity analysis, resource planning, and performance measurement activities. • Ensure project control data is accurate, complete, traceable, and suitable for management decision-making. Change Management • Establish and administer the project change management and change control process. • Manage the identification, registration, assessment, approval, implementation, and closeout of project changes. • Maintain the project change register, trend register, potential change log, and associated records. • Review change requests, change notices, variation orders, field instructions, design changes, claims, and contract amendments. • Ensure that all proposed changes are assessed for their impact on:ScopeCostScheduleResourcesProcurementContractsEngineeringConstructionQualityRiskSafety and regulatory requirements • Coordinate the preparation of cost estimates and schedule impact assessments for proposed changes. • Review contractor and subcontractor change submissions for entitlement, accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation. • Ensure that changes are properly authorized before implementation. • Lead change control meetings and provide recommendations to project leadership and clients. • Ensure approved changes are incorporated into project budgets, forecasts, schedules, progress measurement systems, and contractual records. • Monitor the status of pending, approved, rejected, implemented, and closed changes. • Support the evaluation of claims, extensions of time, compensation events, and disputed changes. • Identify trends and potential changes at an early stage to minimize cost and schedule impacts. • Ensure that changes are fully documented and audit-ready. Team and Stakeholder Management • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and performance management to the project controls and change management team. • Define roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and performance expectations. • Coordinate with project managers, engineering managers, construction managers, procurement, contracts, commercial, finance, and client representatives. • Promote consistent project controls and change management practices across the organization. • Facilitate workshops, review meetings, risk sessions, and change control boards. • Communicate project performance, risks, trends, and change impacts clearly to senior management. • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions by providing reliable project controls information. • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Governance and Continuous Improvement • Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable standards. • Establish effective document control and audit trails for project controls and change management activities. • Support internal, client, and external audits. • Identify opportunities to improve project controls processes, reporting systems, data quality, and change management workflows. • Implement lessons learned and best practices across projects. • Support project closeout by ensuring that final costs, schedules, approved changes, claims, and contractual records are complete and accurate.
