Operations Excellence Transformation Lead (12-Week Contract)

We are supporting a leading Life Sciences organisation undergoing a critical operational excellence and transformation programme. The business is seeking a hands-on transformation professional who can identify operational inefficiencies, drive improvement initiatives, and deliver measurable outcomes across manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role will suit someone with a consulting mindset who is equally comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and spending time on the shop floor understanding operational realities. Key Responsibilities • Assess current manufacturing, operational, and supply chain performance. • Identify productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost optimisation opportunities. • Conduct process diagnostics and root cause analysis. • Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. • Develop and implement practical recommendations to improve operational performance. • Work closely with site leadership and functional teams to drive change adoption. • Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and governance mechanisms. • Support implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and best-practice operational methodologies. • Present findings and recommendations to senior management. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. • 7+ years of experience within consulting, operational excellence, supply chain, manufacturing, or transformation environments. • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Performance Improvement methodologies. • Experience delivering transformation programmes within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or related sectors. • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced project environment with immediate impact expectations. Preferred Backgrounds • Management Consulting firms with Operations, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain practices. • Internal Transformation or Operational Excellence teams. • Manufacturing Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Supply Chain Transformation functions. • Industrial, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Logistics, or Process Manufacturing organisations.
