Role Purpose: We are seeking a qualified Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to oversee the organization’s AML/CTF framework and support the effective identification, assessment, escalation and reporting of financial crime risks. The position will serve as the principal point of contact for AML/CTF matters and will work closely with senior management, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit and relevant regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities: • Act as the primary point of contact for AML/CTF and financial crime matters. • Maintain and oversee the organization’s AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls. • Receive, review, and assess internal suspicious transaction/activity reports and determine whether external reporting is required. • Submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs/SARs) to the relevant Financial Intelligence Unit or competent authority, where appropriate. • Maintain appropriate records of investigations, reports, decisions, and supporting documentation. • Monitor transactions and customer activity for unusual or suspicious patterns. • Oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and ongoing customer monitoring requirements. • Ensure appropriate screening against sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media. • Conduct or oversee AML/CTF risk assessments and identify emerging financial crime risks. • Provide AML/CTF advice to senior management and relevant business functions. • Ensure compliance with applicable AML/CTF legislation and regulatory requirements. • Develop and deliver AML/CTF training and awareness programs for employees. • Review AML alerts, investigations, and escalations and ensure appropriate follow-up. • Coordinate with internal audit, compliance, risk, legal, and business teams on financial crime matters. • Liaise with regulators, law enforcement agencies, and other competent authorities when required. • Oversee remediation of AML/CTF control weaknesses and track corrective actions. • Prepare periodic AML/CTF reports and management information for senior management and/or the Board. • Ensure the organization maintains adequate AML/CTF documentation and audit trails. • Keep up to date with regulatory developments, typologies, sanctions developments, and emerging financial crime risks.
