Technical Project Manager- Physical Access Control

Job Description Position Title - Technical Project Manager – Physical Access Control Systems Location - Kuwait Experience - 7–10 years Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Physical Access Control System (PACS) and integrated security projects in Kuwait. The role will serve as the key technical and project interface between customers, system integrators, consultants, internal engineering teams, and other stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from requirement gathering and site assessment through installation, integration, commissioning, training, handover, and project closure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in physical access control and security systems, along with proven project management, customer handling, troubleshooting, and team coordination capabilities. Key Responsibilities Project Management • Manage physical access control and integrated security projects from initiation through successful completion and handover. • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, and delivery timelines. • Coordinate with customers, system integrators, consultants, contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders. • Track project progress and proactively identify delays, dependencies, technical risks, and resource constraints. • Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed scope, quality standards, timelines, and customer requirements. • Conduct regular project review meetings and communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and action items to stakeholders. • Manage project documentation, approvals, technical submissions, testing records, handover documents, and project closure activities. Technical Project Execution • Capture, analyze, and document technical and functional requirements for Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). • Conduct and coordinate site surveys, technical assessments, and Proof of Concept (POC) demonstrations. • Review system architecture, solution design, BOQ/BOM, drawings, and technical specifications before deployment. • Oversee installation, configuration, testing, integration, and commissioning of access control hardware and software. • Coordinate integrations with relevant third-party systems such as CCTV/VMS, HRMS/ERP, visitor management, elevators, BMS, and other enterprise systems. • Ensure proper system configuration, testing, acceptance, and commissioning before customer handover. • Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex hardware, software, network, integration, and field-related issues. Customer & Stakeholder Management • Act as the primary technical interface for customers during project execution. • Work closely with system integrators and end customers to understand technical requirements and resolve project-related concerns. • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure timely communication throughout the project lifecycle. • Manage technical escalations and coordinate with product, engineering, service, and support teams for resolution. • Conduct customer demonstrations, technical discussions, project review meetings, and solution walkthroughs. • Ensure customer expectations are appropriately managed throughout implementation and handover. Training & Handover • Deliver technical and operational training to system integrators, customer administrators, operators, and technical teams. • Ensure complete project documentation, configuration records, testing reports, training records, and handover documentation are maintained. • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), final commissioning, customer sign-off, and project closure. • Support transition of completed projects to the service/support team where applicable. Qualification & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline. • 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Physical Access Control Systems, electronic security systems, or integrated security solutions. • Demonstrated experience managing medium-to-large security technology projects from planning through commissioning and handover. • Strong hands-on understanding of access control hardware, controllers, readers, credentials, locks, input/output devices, and associated software platforms. • Experience in software installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting. • Experience working with system integrators, consultants, contractors, and enterprise customers. • Experience managing onsite technical teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders. • Prior experience delivering projects in Kuwait or the Middle East/GCC region will be an advantage. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). • Understanding of access control controllers, readers, biometric devices, locks, sensors, and associated field hardware. • Knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, server environments, databases, and system communication protocols. • Understanding of system integrations involving CCTV/VMS, HRMS/ERP, visitor management, elevators, BMS, and related platforms. • Ability to understand system architecture, network diagrams, technical drawings, and project documentation. • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capabilities. • Familiarity with project documentation, BOQ/BOM, method statements, testing and commissioning procedures, and handover documentation. • Working knowledge of project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
