Junior Instrumentation design engineer

A Junior Instrumentation Design Engineer is an entry-level engineering professional who assists in the design, specification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, petrochemical facilities, power plants, and manufacturing industries. Key Responsibilities • Assist in preparing instrumentation design documents and drawings. • Develop instrument index, I/O lists, and cable schedules. • Support the selection and specification of field instruments such as: • Pressure transmitters • Temperature sensors • Flow meters • Level instruments • Control valves • Review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams). • Prepare instrument hook-up drawings and installation details. • Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, and piping disciplines. • Support compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. • Participate in technical reviews and site visits when required. Required Skills • Basic knowledge of instrumentation and control engineering principles. • Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, ISA, API). • Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings. • Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering design software. • Understanding of PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
