Senior Accountant FP&A and Projects Support Reports to: Senior Manager FP&A About the Role Act as the Finance focal point for assigned projects, supporting the CFO and Accounting leadership with FP&A, project accounting, operating-model implementation, management reporting, and project-level coordination. The role helps Finance and Project Management execute approved budgets, KPIs, controls, and reporting requirements consistently across development projects. The position is a senior individual-contributor role and does not include direct people-management responsibility. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning and FP&A Support • Assist in preparing project and corporate budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash-flow projections. • Maintain financial models for assigned projects, including cost-to-complete, cash-burn, margin, and sensitivity analysis. • Prepare budget-versus-actual and forecast-variance analysis, with clear explanations of key movements and risks. • Support scenario and sensitivity analysis for management decision-making. KPI and Performance Scorecard Support • Support the development and maintenance of KPI scorecards for assigned projects and departments. • Coordinate with departments to collect, validate, and consolidate KPI data. • Prepare monthly KPI dashboards and performance reports for SMFP&A review. • Ensure KPI definitions, data sources, ownership, and reporting logic are consistently applied. Operating Model ERP Migration and Implementation • Support implementation of the approved operating model for assigned projects, acting as the Finance representative. • Coordinate with Project Managers to align financial controls, reporting lines, approval workflows, and accountabilities. • Assist with implementing office-level finance processes, templates, controls, and reporting structures. • Support ERP migration and implementation activities, including process mapping, data validation, user testing, and issue resolution. • Monitor adherence to the approved operating and governance model and escalate significant deviations to Finance leadership. Project Coordination Finance Focal Point • Act as the primary Finance point of contact for assigned projects. • Coordinate closely with Project Managers on budgets, forecasts, certifications, and financial reporting requirements. • Support alignment among project schedules, cost reports, payment certifications, actual costs, commitments, and forecasts. • Facilitate timely and accurate information flow between Project Management and Finance teams. Management Reporting and Governance Support • Prepare management-reporting packs and analytical schedules for internal review. • Support audit, lender, investor, and internal-review requests relating to assigned projects. • Ensure alignment among approved budgets, forecasts, commitments, certifications, and actual expenditure. • Maintain complete project documentation and audit trails for FP&A, project-accounting, and operating-model activities. Project Accounting and Financial Control • Support month-end close activities for assigned projects, including accruals, prepayments, cost allocations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. • Review project financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with approved accounting policies and the chart of accounts. • Monitor project costs, commitments, cash requirements, and emerging financial risks; promptly escalate material exceptions. • Support consistent application of relevant accounting standards, internal controls, delegated authorities, and approved Finance procedures. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. • A professional accounting qualification, or progress toward one, is preferred. • 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting, FP&A, project finance, or management reporting. • Experience in real estate development, construction, or another project-based environment is preferred. • Practical experience with ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and management-reporting or business-intelligence tools; Oracle Fusion experience is an advantage. • Sound knowledge of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, internal controls, and applicable financial-reporting requirements.
