Sr. Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose • To manage and carry out electrical operations and maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair works as per approved standards, procedures and safety requirements. • To ensure the safe, reliable, efficient and continuous operation of electrical systems serving critical airport facilities, including medium voltage, low voltage, emergency power, UPS and critical electrical infrastructure. • To provide technical supervision and support to engineers, supervisors, technicians and contractors and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities while maintaining the required quality, safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities • Manage and supervise daily electrical operations and maintenance activities for critical airport facilities. • Plan and monitor PPM, corrective maintenance and breakdown activities to ensure system reliability and availability. • Lead and coordinate engineers, supervisors, technicians, contractors and specialist vendors for electrical maintenance activities. • Plan and supervise electrical shutdowns, switching, isolation, restoration and energization activities. • Respond to electrical emergencies, breakdowns and critical incidents and ensure safe and timely restoration. • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, PTW, LOTO, SOPs, EOPs and approved procedures. • Prepare and review technical reports, incident reports, breakdown reports, PPM reports, readiness reports and other required documentation. • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams & control drawings. • Good understanding of 22 kV MV distribution systems and LV electrical distribution systems. • Knowledge of MV/LV switchgear operation, protection systems, circuit breakers, transformers and electrical distribution equipment. • Knowledge of HV/LV switching, electrical isolation, LOTO and safe electrical working practices. • Knowledge of generators, ATS, emergency power systems and associated control and protection systems. • Knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, UPS distribution, PDUs, smart busways and critical power systems. • Knowledge of electrical monitoring and control systems including SCADA, BMS and DCIM. • Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults, breaker trips, power failures, control circuit problems and equipment abnormalities. • Ability to understand equipment capacity, ratings, operating principles and protection arrangements. • Ability to coordinate and supervise electrical shutdowns and restoration activities with minimum operational impact. • Ability to review electrical test results and identify abnormal conditions. • Ability to understand and follow approved SOPs, EOPs, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Instructions. • Understanding of CAFM work order processes, PPM scheduling and corrective maintenance activities. • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders during critical maintenance and emergency situations. • Pro-active approach towards identifying electrical system issues and preventing equipment failures. • Good leadership and team coordination skills. • Good communication and technical reporting skills. • Prepare and review timely and accurate information for management and client reporting. • Prepare technical reports related to electrical breakdowns, incidents, equipment failures, maintenance activities and corrective actions. • Review and submit PPM completion reports, equipment test reports and maintenance records. • Prepare shutdown reports, restoration reports and operational readiness reports as required. • Support preparation of RCA reports and corrective/preventive action plans for major electrical incidents. • Maintain accurate records of electrical equipment, maintenance activities, breakdowns and outstanding issues. • Ensure all reports and records meet department, client and company requirements. • Ensure all electrical activities comply with Client and Enova QHSE policies and procedures. • Ensure proper implementation of PTW, LOTO, electrical isolation and safe working practices. • Ensure correct use of PPE, electrical tools and safety equipment. • Conduct and participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings. • Ensure technicians and contractors follow approved SOPs, method statements and risk assessments. • Identify unsafe conditions and take necessary corrective actions. • Support incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions. • Perform other electrical engineering, operations, maintenance, technical and related duties or assignments as directed by the Operation Manager or management. Qualifications, Experiences, & Skills • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering • 6 to 8 years’ experience in maintenance work in the relevant field • Proficiency in English language; coordination skills, numerical skills, understanding and following SOPs/ work instructions, communication skills, knowledge in health & safety standards; job-specific skills in the relevant field. • Willingness to be based in Abu Dhabi.
