Junior Landscape Architect

DLR Group is an integrated design firm working across architecture, engineering, planning, interiors and landscape architecture. We are looking for a Junior Landscape Architect to join our Dubai studio and contribute to projects from early ideas through design development and documentation. This role would suit a recent graduate or designer with up to two years of professional experience who is curious about how places work and how landscape ideas become buildable designs. You may already have strengths in concept design, drawing or visualisation. We are looking for someone willing to develop across all three, with the guidance of an experienced team. What you will do • Research sites, climate, context and precedents, and turn your findings into useful design input. • Help develop landscape concepts, plans, sections, diagrams and presentations. • Prepare and update drawings and project documents with guidance from senior team members. • Build your understanding of planting, materials, grading and construction details. • Coordinate your work with architects, engineers and other designers. • Check your work carefully, respond to feedback and meet agreed deadlines. • Contribute ideas, ask questions and take growing responsibility for defined tasks as your skills develop. What you will bring • A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. • Up to two years of professional experience, including graduate or internship experience. • A portfolio that demonstrates design thinking, clear graphic communication and your own contribution to the work shown. • Working ability in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience in a 3D modelling or visualisation tool. • An interest in both creative design and the technical work needed to deliver it. • Care in preparing drawings and presentations, a willingness to learn and the confidence to seek clarification when needed. • The ability to work well with others and communicate your ideas clearly. Experience with planting design, site grading, construction documentation, Revit, Civil 3D or other relevant software would be welcome, but you do not need to have mastered every part of the role already.
