Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant – Healthcare Location: Dubai, UAE SylvCare Talent is recruiting an experienced Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant for a specialist healthcare organization in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting function, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and compliance while supporting senior management with accurate and timely financial information. Key Responsibilities • Manage and supervise the full accounting cycle and day-to-day finance operations. • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. • Ensure accurate maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Review journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing activities. • Prepare management reports and provide financial analysis to senior management. • Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses and overall financial performance. • Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts. • Analyze budget versus actual performance and identify material variances. • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and monitoring of cash and banking transactions. • Oversee supplier payments, expense approvals and payment schedules. • Monitor patient revenue, insurance receivables and other healthcare-related income streams where applicable. • Coordinate with billing and operational teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and collections. • Support payroll review and financial controls related to employee compensation. • Maintain proper fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. • Ensure compliance with UAE accounting, tax and regulatory requirements. • Manage UAE VAT accounting, reconciliation and filing requirements. • Support Corporate Tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors or auditors where required. • Liaise with external auditors and prepare required schedules and supporting documentation. • Develop and maintain effective internal financial controls and accounting policies. • Identify financial risks, discrepancies and process weaknesses and recommend corrective action. • Maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure appropriate record retention. • Support management with financial planning, cost control and profitability analysis. • Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff where applicable. • Work closely with clinic management and operational leadership to improve financial efficiency. Candidate Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent is advantageous. • Strong experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar senior finance professional. • Previous accounting experience within the UAE is strongly preferred. • Experience within healthcare, hospitals, medical centers, clinics or ophthalmology organizations is highly advantageous. • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and financial compliance requirements. • Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls. • Excellent analytical and numerical skills. • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems. • Ability to prepare accurate financial reports independently. • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines. • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. • Arabic and English communication capability is preferred. Preferred Profile Preference will be given to candidates with: • Direct experience within an ophthalmology clinic, eye hospital or multispecialty healthcare group. • Strong UAE healthcare accounting experience. • Previous responsibility for full-cycle accounting and financial reporting. • Experience dealing with auditors, VAT and regulatory compliance. • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function.
