Job Summary Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Consultancy Supervision Team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring electrical works on major infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, authority regulations, and quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure systems and the ability to coordinate effectively with Contractors, Clients, Design Teams, and relevant authorities throughout the construction, testing, commissioning, and handover stages. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and monitor electrical works on infrastructure projects in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable authority regulations. • Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and other technical documents related to electrical works. • Coordinate with the Design Engineer and project team to resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and site-related challenges. • Ensure that electrical works are executed in accordance with the approved design intent and project requirements. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality and progress of electrical installations. • Review and monitor electrical materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications and project requirements. • Identify non-conforming works and support the issuance and follow-up of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). • Coordinate with Contractors to ensure corrective actions are implemented for identified quality and technical issues. • Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) in resolving construction-related and technical matters. • Attend technical coordination meetings, progress meetings, and stakeholder discussions as required. • Monitor construction activities and progress to ensure timely delivery of electrical works. • Coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems. • Participate in inspections, snagging, project close-out activities, and final handover. • Prepare daily, weekly, and technical reports highlighting site progress, observations, technical issues, and recommended actions. • Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Utility Authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate approvals and project coordination. • Ensure compliance with relevant Abu Dhabi authority requirements and applicable regulations. • Provide technical support and guidance to Electrical Inspectors and other site team members. • Support the project team in delivering multiple infrastructure projects, as required. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. • Minimum 8–10 years of overall professional experience, including relevant experience in consultancy supervision of infrastructure projects in the UAE. • Strong experience in electrical infrastructure works such as street lighting, LV/MV networks, substations, duct banks, utility corridors, and associated electrical systems. • Good knowledge of relevant Abu Dhabi authority requirements and approval procedures, including TAQA Distribution, Abu Dhabi Mobility, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and other applicable stakeholders. • Experience in construction supervision, site coordination, quality control, testing and commissioning, and project handover. • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. • Previous consultancy experience on major infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi is preferred. • Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution is desirable.
