Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns. The In-patient Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications to all ambulatory patients while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. The role supports high-volume In-tpatient operations and contributes to medication safety and quality improvement initiatives within the department. Responsibilities • Review, verify, and dispense In-patient prescriptions in accordance with DOH, JCI, and hospital standards. • Provide accurate patient counseling on medication use, dosing, precautions, and storage. • Ensure timely dispensing to maintain optimal patient flow and waiting-time targets. • Identify and resolve therapeutic duplications, interactions, and medication-related issues. • Coordinate with physicians and nurses to clarify and optimize medication orders. • Support medication safety initiatives, LASA management, and high-alert medication guidelines. • Maintain accurate inventory control, expiry monitoring, and proper storage conditions. • Document interventions and contribute to quality and performance improvement activities. • Participate in department meetings, training, and competency assessments. Qualifications • Valid UAE Pharmacist License/DOH license or eligibility. • Experience in In-patient or hospital pharmacy setting (preferred). • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy. Show more Show less
