As part of our Emiratization initiatives, we are looking for a Civil Design and Planning Engineer to lead and coordinate civil engineering design and planning for data center and critical infrastructure projects. The role ensures designs are safe, compliant, constructible, and aligned with site conditions, regulatory requirements, and project timelines, while supporting effective coordination between design, construction, planning, and authorities. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Develop and coordinate civil designs including site layouts, grading, earthworks, drainage, roads, pavements, foundations, and external works. • Ensure civil designs comply with applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and project specifications. • Review consultant and contractor submissions for technical accuracy, compliance, and constructability. • Coordinate geotechnical investigations and incorporate recommendations into civil design solutions. • Assess and mitigate risks related to soil conditions, settlement, groundwater, and earthworks stability. • Integrate flood risk assessments, stormwater management, and climate resilience measures into site designs. • Align civil design deliverables with construction sequencing, phasing plans, and project schedules. • Support planning of enabling and temporary works, including access roads, platforms, dewatering, and temporary drainage. • Drive value engineering and design optimisation to improve constructability, cost, and schedule outcomes. • Coordinate civil interfaces with utilities, road authorities, and off-site infrastructure providers. • Ensure site access, utility corridors, and external works meet project and authority requirements. • Support regulatory submissions, permitting, and approvals with relevant authorities. • Coordinate civil interfaces with structural, electrical, mechanical, utilities, and other project stakeholders. • Provide construction-stage support, including responding to RFIs, resolving site issues, and managing design changes. • Maintain civil design documentation and support quality reviews, audits, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • 5–8 years of experience in civil design and planning, preferably within data centers, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale developments. • Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams. • Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations, geotechnical principles, and flood/stormwater management. • Proficiency in interpreting and preparing civil drawings, specifications, calculations, and using tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D. • Strong understanding of planning, phasing, constructability, risk management, and problem-solving. • Demonstrates technical rigor, attention to detail, clear communication, stakeholder coordination, accountability, adaptability, and effective cross-disciplinary collaboration.
