Position: Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (Emirati) Client: Dubai government Location: Dubai Role Overview As Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for electrical works across complex capital projects — from design review and contractor oversight through to project handover and warranty management. You will lead energy efficiency strategies, approve critical electrical documentation, and act as the primary technical reference for highly complex electrical systems. Key Responsibilities • Review and analyze electrical designs, drawings, plans, and materials for complex capital projects — verify compliance with technical standards and specifications • Conduct regular field visits to active project sites — inspect electrical works quality — verify contractor adherence to approved schedules • Lead energy efficiency strategy and power supply resilience for critical facilities — determine redundancy levels, grounding, and lightning protection philosophy • Act as technical reference for highly complex electrical works — approve single-line diagrams, shop drawings, short-circuit calculations, protective coordination, and arc flash risk analysis • Approve major deviations, value engineering decisions, and modifications — ensure compliance with standards, codes, and service provider requirements • Review and approve financial payments to contractors and consultants — evaluate change orders — audit financial claims • Monitor consultants and contractors during warranty period — verify completion of maintenance works and defect rectification • Study and review tender documents for electrical works — develop detailed work programs and schedules • Prepare weekly and bi-monthly progress reports — including achievements, obstacles, and recommendations Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university — mandatory • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for complex capital projects • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and service provider requirements • Experience in project management, contractor oversight, and technical documentation Show more Show less
