For our office in Dubai, we are looking for Electrical Engineer (LV & Lighting) - 100% (m/f) with airport experience. The Ideal Candidate will have experience reviewing LV distribution, lighting, small power, and specialist lighting systems for airports, aviation facilities, large buildings, industrial assets, or transportation infrastructure. The candidate should be able to review shop drawings, photometric calculations, lighting controls, containment coordination, emergency lighting, and authority-compliant electrical submissions while working closely with multidisciplinary design and site teams. Responsibilities: • Review and coordinate LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, containment, earthing, bonding, and local power design deliverables. • Review specialist lighting systems for aviation and industrial environments, including high-bay hangar lighting, paint booth lighting, inspection lighting, sealed luminaires, and washdown-rated fittings. • Check lighting calculations, lux levels, uniformity, glare control, CRI requirements, emergency lighting coverage, DALI or lighting control arrangements, and energy-efficiency provisions. • Review LV panels, distribution boards, cable sizing, cable routing, containment layouts, small power layouts, equipment connections, and interface drawings. • Coordinate electrical design inputs with mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, ELV/ICT, civil, utilities, roads, architectural, structural, BIM/CAD, and construction teams. • Assess external street, apron, access, and area lighting interfaces where they connect with civil works, utilities, or wider site infrastructure. • Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawing comments, material submittal reviews, calculation reviews, BOQs, and design review responses. • Support design workshops, technical meetings, authority coordination, site clarifications, quality reviews, and close-out of interdisciplinary comments. • Review electrical submissions for compliance with applicable standards, local regulations, safety requirements, maintainability, and operational requirements. • Support commissioning readiness by reviewing testing documentation, inspection records, energisation constraints, and coordination items for LV and lighting systems. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. • Minimum 7 to 12 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with at least 4 years reviewing LV and lighting shop drawings and submittals on large projects. • Airport or aviation facilities experience is required, preferably including hangars, maintenance facilities, specialist lighting, industrial buildings, or transportation assets. • Strong knowledge of LV panels, distribution boards, cable sizing, containment, earthing and bonding, small power, lighting controls, DALI, emergency lighting, and external lighting interfaces. • Experience with specialist lighting such as explosion-proof luminaires, high-bay lighting, paint booth lighting, inspection lighting with high CRI requirements, sealed fittings, and washdown-rated fixtures. • Hands-on familiarity with Dialux or AGi32, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and common electrical calculation or documentation tools. • Good knowledge of BS 7671 or NEC, IEC 60598, CIBSE/SLL lighting guidance, EN 12464, NFPA 70, DEWA regulations, and IEC 60079 principles for classified zones. • Ability to review drawings, calculations, technical specifications, material submittals, method statements, BOQs, and design reports. • Middle East experience is preferred, with UAE and DEWA coordination exposure considered an advantage. • Strong coordination, communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and professional English language skills.
