Senior Site Architect – Architecture & Interior Design Abu Dhabi, UAE Connexa Recruitment are working in partnership with an award-winning international Architectural & Design practice that is looking to appoint a Senior Site Architect to join the site delivery team on a prestigious building project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a landmark development, ensuring both the architectural and interior design vision are delivered to the highest standards throughout the construction phase. Job Overview As a Senior Site Architect, you will lead the on-site architectural team, providing expert guidance throughout the construction phase. You will be responsible for ensuring the architectural and interior design intent is maintained from concept through to completion, while adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and programme delivery. Working closely with the Interior Design team, consultants, contractors and clients, you will oversee the coordination and execution of both architectural and interior fit-out packages. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership • Lead and manage architectural and interior design activities on-site, ensuring the design vision is successfully implemented. • Provide technical direction and coordination between architects, interior designers, engineers, project managers and contractors. • Monitor construction progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Design Management • Ensure the architectural and interior design intent is maintained throughout the construction process. • Review and approve architectural drawings, interior fit-out drawings, shop drawings, material submissions and mock-ups. • Resolve design discrepancies and site issues while maintaining the overall design quality. • Coordinate design changes between architectural, MEP, structural and interior design disciplines. Quality Assurance • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure construction and interior fit-out works comply with approved drawings and specifications. • Monitor quality control procedures across architectural finishes and interior installations. • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, building codes, health & safety requirements and project specifications. • Review material samples and finishes to ensure they meet the required design and quality standards. Client Liaison • Act as the primary architectural contact for clients during the construction phase. • Work alongside the Interior Design team to present design updates, review finishes and coordinate client approvals. • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, RFIs, design revisions and material approvals. • Prepare progress reports highlighting architectural and interior design milestones, risks and resolutions. • Ensure all project documentation is maintained in accordance with company procedures. Team Collaboration • Coordinate closely with structural, civil, MEP and interior design teams to ensure seamless project delivery. • Mentor junior architects and site staff, promoting best practice and technical excellence. • Support the successful delivery of architectural and interior fit-out packages through proactive site management. Key Requirements Education • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related discipline. Experience • Minimum 12 years' experience in site-based architecture, including at least 3 years in a senior site leadership role. • Proven experience delivering high-rise buildings up to G+30 floors. • Experience managing large-scale residential, mixed-use or hospitality tower projects from design through construction. • Previous experience coordinating high-end interior design and interior fit-out packages within large-scale developments is highly desirable. • Experience working with international architectural and interior design consultants would be advantageous. Skills • Strong leadership and project management capabilities. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other architectural design software. • Knowledge of interior detailing, finishes, FF&E coordination and fit-out processes. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. • Thorough understanding of building regulations, construction methodologies, quality standards and sustainability principles. • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver both architectural and interior design elements.
