Senior Technical Software Engineer - Salesforce

As a Senior Technical Software Engineer - Salesforce, you will drive the design, development, and deployment of business-critical Salesforce solutions, with a strong focus on Agentforce, Data Cloud, AI, and the broader Salesforce platform. The role provides strong technical leadership within the feature team, driving scalable architecture, high-quality engineering practices, and innovative AI-powered solutions. You will be responsible for delivering solutions across the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, estimation, development, integration, release, hyper-care, and production support, while leveraging Salesforce capabilities to enable intelligent, data-driven, and AI-powered business experiences. In This Role, You Will • Collaborate with the team to deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex solutions within relevant product. Carry out effective technical design reviews to ensure that the right architecture patterns are used by the team. • Drive the adoption of engineering practices, implement development process automation, lean software development, built-in quality, test-driven development, agile practices, and timely root cause analysis and blameless incident post-mortems. • Partner with cross-functional teams to determine viability of solutions. Evaluate current problems, future requirements and existing solutions in medium to large projects to enable high-level design and drive proof-of-concepts and implement prototypes to validate ideas. • Investigate, debug and fix complex issues involving corner cases and rare conditions. Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review. • Contribute to sprint/work design and planning by providing subject matter expertise on business domain and relevant technologies and actively contribute to technology-specific communities of practice. • Manage and mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill and knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities. Responsible for their technical deliveries and adherence to design and coding standards and practices. • Ensure optimal use of enterprise application platforms, tools and libraries in line with the approved technology architecture. • Responsible for corrective, adaptive, preventative and perfective maintenance of products in collaboration with other capabilities for the relevant product. Qualification Qualifications & Experience • Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering. • Certification in any one of the following technology/product: SalesForce • 5+ years of experience in software engineering within large, complex organizations. • Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C) Developer certification – Mandatory. Knowledge/skills • Experience developing advanced and complex technology solutions for large, complex organisations in a multi-functional environment. • Strong experience in Salesforce platform development, solution architecture, data modelling, and integration. • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Agentforce, including designing AI agents, topics, actions, instructions, and integrating agents with Salesforce and external systems. • Strong understanding of Salesforce Data Cloud, including data ingestion, data modelling, data harmonization, identity resolution, and using unified data to power AI and business experiences. • Hands-on experience with AI/LLM technologies, including prompt engineering, grounding, RAG, AI-powered applications, and responsible AI practices. • Experience leveraging Salesforce AI capabilities to design and implement intelligent, automated, and data-driven business solutions. • Strong development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, REST APIs, and Salesforce integration patterns. • Experience integrating Salesforce, Agentforce, and Data Cloud with external applications and enterprise systems using APIs, events, and middleware. • Strong understanding of Salesforce security, scalability, performance, and enterprise architecture best practices. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, Jira/Confluence, and managing multi-environment Salesforce deployments. Degree in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering. Certification in Salesforce (Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer certification – Mandatory). 5+ years of software engineering experience in large, complex organizations.

Collaborate to deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex Salesforce-based solutions. Drive engineering practices, automation, lean software development, test-driven development, agile practices, and blameless post-mortems. Partner with cross-functional teams to assess viability, define requirements, and drive proofs-of-concept. Investigate, debug and resolve complex issues; propose alternatives and new technologies for architectural reviews. Contribute to sprint planning with domain and tech SME input; participate in communities of practice. Mentor Software Engineers and ensure adherence to design and coding standards. Ensure optimal use of enterprise platforms and libraries aligned with architecture. Maintain products across corrective, adaptive, preventive and perfective maintenance in collaboration with other capabilities.
