Position Summary The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of dishes to the highest standards. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The Chef de Partie supports the kitchen leadership team by maintaining mise en place, supervising junior staff, and upholding food safety and hygiene protocols. Key Responsibilities Section Management Culinary Execution • Manage and run a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. • Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently to meet quality and brand standards. • Ensure mise en place is complete and maintained throughout service. • Monitor food preparation and portion control to reduce waste and maintain consistency. • Create visually appealing dishes with appropriate garnishes and plating techniques. • Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed. Team Support Training • Supervise, guide, and train Commis Chefs and junior staff within the section. • Provide support and feedback to team members to encourage growth and performance. • Promote teamwork, discipline, and professionalism in the kitchen. Food Safety Hygiene • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in compliance with HACCP. • Monitor stock rotation and ensure proper storage of ingredients. • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety and product tracking. • Notify management of any product that does not meet quality specifications. Inventory Operational Support • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies. • Ensure proper rotation and labelling of ingredients to reduce waste. • Collaborate with Sous Chef and Head Chef on menu planning, costing, and new dish development. Guest Interaction Service Coordination • Inform service staff of menu specials and unavailable items. • Address guest feedback related to food quality professionally and promptly. General Duties Physical Requirements • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management. • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform. • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and guests. • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 25 lbs as required during shifts. • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
