Main Responsibilities • The role oversees the design process from concept through to construction and project completion, ensuring that design solutions are functional, efficient, commercially viable, and technically compliant, while contributing to design initiation, space planning, and architectural direction. • It requires a strong understanding of material selection, façade systems, architectural detailing, construction methodologies, and integration within the broader urban and public realm context, with active involvement during execution to ensure that design intent is delivered on site. • Acting as a central coordination point, the role interfaces with internal stakeholders, consultants, and government authorities to ensure effective collaboration, regulatory compliance, cost control, and timely project delivery within approved budgets and schedules. • Key Responsibilities Design Review • Ensure the authority design reviews are carried out on timely manner • Oversee coordination across all disciplines to ensure fully integrated authority reviews. Stakeholder & Development • Coordination Support decision-making by clearly communicating design implications on Master Plan. • Coordinate with other Authorities such as RTA, DEWA etc to ensure the Master plan is aligned with the GIS System Planning & Urban Development • Generate and contribute to architectural design concepts, including massing, layouts, and façade direction. • Review design proposals to ensure architectural quality and coherence. Space Planning & Functional Efficiency • Review and optimize layouts to ensure all authority regulations are aligned. • Ensure the development planning parameters are within the allocated limits of Master Plan • Ensure integration of architecture with structural and MEP systems. Master Planning, Urban Planning & Public Realm Integration • Demonstrate a sound understanding of master planning and urban planning principles, including land use, density, circulation, and built form relationships. • Ensure architectural designs are appropriately integrated within the wider masterplan and urban context. • Understand and support the development of public realm elements, including connectivity, pedestrian experience, and placemaking. Consultant Management • Manage consultants & contractors to ensure adherence to DIEZ regulation. • Critically review submissions and challenge proposals where required. • Ensure consistency in architectural language and overall design quality. Authority Coordination & Compliance • Ensure site inspections are carried out as per site requirements. • Proactively identify and address approval-related risks. Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture (mandatory). • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in architectural design and Urban Planning. • Strong working knowledge of: • Autodesk Revit • Adobe Photoshop • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and InDesign. • Ability to communicate design ideas effectively through visual and technical tools.
