Role Description The Ship Management Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai. This position supports day-to-day accounting activities related to ship management operations, including recording financial transactions, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and maintaining accurate ledgers. The role involves posting accruals, reconciling accounts, monitoring expenses, and supporting budgeting and cost tracking for vessels and related services. The Junior Accountant will collaborate with senior finance team members, respond to internal queries, and help ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The role also includes preparing basic reports, supporting audits, and contributing to process improvements for the accounting function. Qualifications • Candidates should possess strong finance and accounting skills, including a basic understanding of core principles and practices. • Candidates should possess experience with financial statements and accruals, including recording entries and supporting period-end closing. • Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify variances, and support decision-making. • Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and data validation. • Relevant bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills are essential. • Ability to work on-site in Dubai, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Previous exposure to maritime, logistics, or property-related industries is an advantage but not mandatory.
