Our client is one of the leading regional banks, looking for a Managing Director Group Credit to lead credit strategy and risk management. This high-impact role is central to shaping the bank’s credit policies, driving portfolio growth, and maintaining a strong risk framework across diverse lending operations. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute the bank’s overall credit strategy in alignment with business objectives. • Lead a global team, building a high-performance, risk-aware culture. • Oversee all aspects of credit risk management, including underwriting standards, portfolio quality, and credit review processes. • Implement advanced credit analytics and risk assessment models to enhance decision-making. • Partner with business units to design credit products that drive responsible growth across retail, SME, and corporate segments. • Collaborate closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all credit-related regulations and policies. • Report to the executive committee and Board on credit risk exposure and portfolio performance. Key Requirements: • Proven experience in credit leadership within the banking sector, with deep familiarity with Central and Eastern European markets. • Strong corporate/ wholesale banking experience. • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in the credit function, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership capacity within a leading bank. • Strong expertise in credit risk management, regulatory frameworks, and portfolio strategy. • Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. • Track record of building and scaling credit operations in complex environments.
