Accountant

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented Accounting professional to support and strengthen our finance function as we scale. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including credit, treasury, and operations to ensure accurate accounting treatment across our products. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Key Responsibilities • Own the full set of books across all entities (AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany) • Run a clean month-end close on a 5-7 working-day calendar • Reconcile all bank, wallet, and payment processor accounts across AED, SAR, and USD • Manage loan portfolio accounting: profit recognition, fee amortization, write-offs, and IFRS 9 ECL provisioning • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with variance commentary • Prepare UAE VAT and Corporate Tax returns; coordinate with external advisors • Lead external audits — own the PBC list and draft IFRS financial statements with disclosure notes • Maintain accounting policies, the chart of accounts, and process documentation • Partner with credit, treasury, and operations on accounting treatment for new products What are we Looking for Experience • 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in fintech, financial services, or a high-growth environment • Solid understanding of IFRS, with exposure to financial instruments and provisioning concepts (e.g., IFRS 9) • Hands-on experience with month-end close and maintaining the full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL) • Experience with bank reconciliations and multi-currency environments • Exposure to loan/financing accounting, revenue or profit recognition, and accruals is a plus • Experience supporting external audits and working with auditors • Exposure to VAT / corporate tax compliance or working with external advisors is a plus Skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Fast learner with the ability to apply new knowledge effectively • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a dynamic team environment • Independent and proactive mindset; thrives in a fast-moving environment.
