Senior Backend Engineer - Java Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Onsite - 5 days per week We're recruiting on behalf of an established technology organisation in Abu Dhabi that is expanding its engineering team. This is an opportunity for a Senior Backend Engineer to work on high-performance, distributed backend systems, solving complex technical challenges at scale. You'll play a key role in designing, developing and optimising backend services while collaborating with experienced engineers on mission-critical platforms. What You'll Bring • Extensive commercial experience with Java and backend application development. • Strong experience designing and building scalable, high-performance distributed systems. • Hands-on experience with databases, including PostgreSQL and ClickHouse. • Experience working with streaming and real-time data technologies such as Apache Flink. • A solid understanding of system performance, scalability and backend architecture. • Experience working on gateway or networking components is highly desirable, with C++ experience in this area considered a strong advantage.
