Procurement Engineer

One of the leading Oil & Gas manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer – Electrical to manage the procurement of Electrical, Fire & Gas (F&G) packages, cables, lighting fixtures, and other related materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, vendor management, purchase order execution, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support project requirements while achieving departmental objectives within budget. Responsibilities : • Execute procurement activities as assigned by the Procurement Manager. • Handle procurement of: Electrical materials Fire & Gas (F&G) packages F&G materials Cables Lighting fixtures Equipment and related services • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and recommend vendors based on quality, pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and service. • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders. • Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers throughout the procurement process. • Manage vendor claims related to defective, damaged, short-supplied, or missing materials. • Obtain quotations to support tendering activities. • Identify and develop new suppliers and service providers. • Participate in supplier performance evaluations. • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and QHSE requirements. • Manage material deliveries (local and overseas) until receipt at the designated project location. • Collect and verify all required commercial and technical documentation from suppliers. • Expedite suppliers and coordinate with internal teams (Projects, Finance, Logistics, Clearance, etc.) to ensure on-time delivery. • Review shipping and commercial documentation before processing. • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely transportation of materials. • Support evaluation of logistics service providers. • Perform other duties assigned by senior management. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering. Experience • Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in procurement within a structured corporate environment. Preferred Candidate Profile • Experience working on EPC, Oil & Gas, Industrial, or Infrastructure projects. • Strong supplier management and commercial negotiation skills. • Ability to work under tight project schedules. • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders across projects and supply chain.
