Role Overview At Daikan Izakaya Restaurant, our head waiter plays a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Working in an onsite setting, the head waiter will act as a front-line ambassador of the restaurant, overseeing table service, coordinating with the kitchen staff, and ensuring that our esteemed guests enjoy the best of Japanese hospitality. Responsibilities • Greet and assist guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor. • Oversee the flow of service within the dining area to ensure excellent customer experience. • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to manage meal orders efficiently. • Ensure the dining area is clean, hygienic, and well-maintained. • Resolve guest complaints promptly and effectively to enhance customer satisfaction. • Train and mentor junior staff in maintaining service standards. • Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders when necessary. Requirements for the Role • Proven experience as a head waiter or in a similar supervisory role in a high-end restaurant. • Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in English. • Detailed knowledge of food and beverage best practices. • Adept at multitasking and managing stressful situations. • Strong leadership qualities with an eye for detail and quality assurance. • Flexible availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. • Prior experience within the Japanese dining or Izakaya setting is a plus.
