Role Description The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role involves leading the electrical design of building projects, including power distribution systems, lighting layouts, and low-voltage systems, in line with local codes and client requirements. The engineer will prepare detailed designs, calculations, technical drawings, and specifications, and coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams to integrate electrical solutions into overall project plans. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and optimizing designs for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, supporting site teams during installation, responding to technical queries, and participating in design reviews and client meetings. The engineer will also help standardize design procedures, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and quality standards. Qualifications • Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for building and MEP projects. • Candidate should have strong knowledge of Authorities portal for submission of design drawing and attending technical discussion meeting with Engineer. • Candidate should have minimum 05 years experience in consultancy firm , repsonsible for design of electrical, and ELV drawings. • Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering knowledge, including electricity fundamentals and applied design for building services. • Candidates should possess experience in Power Distribution systems, including load calculations, panel schedules, and coordination with other utilities. • Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced certifications or professional registration are an advantage. • Proficiency with electrical design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar), and familiarity with applicable local and international electrical codes and standards. • Demonstrated experience in MEP or construction environments, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and site personnel. • Prior experience in the UAE or GCC region and knowledge of Dubai regulations and authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, DCD, Etisalat, DU and Dubai building codes) is beneficial.
