Position Overview Reem Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care while supporting surgeons, anesthetists, and the wider surgical team throughout surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in the operating theatre environment, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care. Key Responsibilities • Prepare operating theatres, instruments, equipment, and supplies prior to surgical procedures. • Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals during surgical operations. • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control policies and sterile techniques. • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and provide appropriate nursing care. • Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and promptly report any changes in patient condition. • Maintain accurate surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and consumables. • Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within the scope of practice. • Document patient care activities accurately and in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and smooth theatre operations. • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation initiatives. Requirements • Valid DOH Nursing License, or eligibility to obtain a DOH license. • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. • Minimum 2 years of recent Operation Theatre / Perioperative Nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting. • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification is preferred. • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards. • Experience working within multidisciplinary surgical teams. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural healthcare environment.
