About the Role Phoenix Concrete Products is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all operational functions across our manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading production, maintenance, production planning, yard operations, internal logistics, and stores while ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, cost optimization, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This role works closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and HSE teams to ensure production capacity aligns with customer demand and business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, planning, yard operations, logistics, and stores. • Ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational KPIs are consistently achieved. • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize plant capacity. • Drive equipment reliability through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs. • Monitor production efficiency, inventory accuracy, and raw material utilization to minimize waste and operational costs. • Oversee finished goods handling, internal logistics, and inventory control. • Analyse operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. • Investigate production issues, downtime, quality deviations, and inventory variances, implementing corrective actions as required. • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, shift leaders, and operational teams. • Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE regulations, and manufacturing best practices. • Support budgeting, operational planning, capital projects, and new production initiatives. Qualifications Required • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations. • At least 5 years in a leadership role within the building materials or concrete products industry. Skills & Competencies • Deep Knowledge of manufacturing processes preferably concrete products, production planning, equipment reliability, operational controls, and PMP. • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teams, with strong performance management and defining operational KPIs. • Strategic planning, data-driven decision -making and analytical problem-solving. • Solid understanding of inventory management, preferably ERP system, and adherence to HSE and company policies.
