JOB PURPOSE Manage the planning, initiation, construction, and closing phases of a project, ensuring that the work is completed as per design specifications, in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in compliance with QHSSE standards. JOB DUTIES Construction Management Activities • Develop and implement construction plans and schedules to ensure successful project execution and achievement of all project milestones. • Lead and manage construction teams, including subcontractors, engineers, and on-site personnel, ensuring effective communication and coordination. • Ensure proper utilization of project resources, including labour, materials, plant, machinery, and equipment, in a cost-effective manner and in alignment with project budgets, timelines, and contractual requirements, in coordination with relevant stakeholders. • Determine labour requirements based on the set project schedule, participate in the selection and training of the team, dispatch workers to construction sites, and monitor their productivity on a daily basis. • Ensure proper implementation of agreed-upon subcontracted works in line with set agreements and monitor subcontractors’ work delivery on a continuous basis. • Provide recommendations on engineering drawings and technical specifications, when required, to ensure alignment with project requirements and determine appropriate construction techniques. • Define clear responsibilities and deliverable requirements in the assigned project, oversee day-to-day construction works by conducting regular site visits, and ensure progress as per the set schedule. • Receive and validate invoices from subcontractors and construction-related expenses after ensuring that relevant works are completed on site, then submit them to the Project Manager for approval. • Ensure compliance with local and international construction laws, as well as the proper implementation of quality, health, safety, security, and environmental management systems on site, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to rectify deviations or violations. • Obtain necessary permits for major/critical works as per client and/or regulatory requirements. • Support in the identification of potential project risks, assist in the development of mitigation strategies, and implement agreed-upon corrective actions as needed, while coordinating with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, internal teams, and the Project Manager. • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and opportunities in a timely manner. • Prepare and submit project progress reports and other documents as required to the client and other stakeholders. • Support in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives by analysing project performance and implementing best practices. • Coordinate the closing phase of the project, prepare relevant documents, and record lessons learned to be shared with the Project Manager. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a must. • Minimum 10 years of relevant site construction experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or construction leadership role. • Project Management Professional Certification is preferred. • Sound knowledge of the EPC industry in Oil & Gas projects. • Pipeline construction experience is required. • Experience with ADNOC Onshore or ADNOC Gas projects is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site execution, productivity control, and QHSSE requirements. • Excellent command of English and Arabic; French is a plus. • Excellent computer skills.
