Chief Electrical Engineer – Major EPC Project (Abu Dhabi Branch) Are you a Senior Electrical Engineering authority with a long-standing track record of delivering massive EPC energy projects in the Middle East region? Arkad is expanding its operations for a strategic, local EPC project in the Abu Dhabi area. We are looking for a high-caliber Chief Electrical Engineer to join us under an Abu Dhabi contractual framework . Note: This position focuses strictly on full technical scope execution and project delivery ownership for the assigned project, rather than hierarchical team management or tutoring .Key Responsibilities and Duties • Project Delivery & Ownership: Ensure that all activities related to the Electrical engineering discipline within the assigned project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety/environment requirements • Technical Assurance: Act as the technical authority and lead the Technical Assurance process for the assigned project • Deliverables Approval: Review and formally approve all engineering outputs issued by the electrical discipline for the project, including design criteria, technical specifications, calculations, data sheets, inspection data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations (TBE) • Project & Cost Control: Prepare the deliverables planning of the electrical discipline in line with the project schedule. Control, review, and monitor any progress deviations from the plan, setting up recovery plans as necessary • Man-Hour Management: Plan discipline engineering man-hours in line with the progress schedule and budget, strictly monitoring spent vs. earned man-hours and implementing corrective actions for any deviations • Procurement & Vendor Interface: Supervise the overall process of Material Requisitions for electrical equipment (MR issue, technical bid evaluation, vendor follow-up, and review of vendor technical documentation). Interact directly with suppliers and coordinate engineering subcontractor activities • Design Coordination & Optimization: Ensure that electrical engineering is developed with proper coordination among other disciplines by performing and participating in interdisciplinary squad checks. Analyze project constraints to solve engineering development issues promptly, and propose design optimizations to minimize quantities and costs • Testing & Site Support: Carry out periodical estimates of material and erection quantities. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in vendor shops and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). Support the Construction Department with work requisitions and assist the Site Technical Office during erection and commissioning phases • Commercial & Bidding Interface: Interact directly with Client technical representatives as the key person for the discipline. Support the Project Management Team in case of disputes or claims (evaluating new scopes of work, cost/time impacts, and risks). Review tender documentation and prepare technical clarification requests during the bid phase Your Profile • Experience: 10–15 years of long-standing experience in Electrical Engineering within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy EPC projects, with proven project technical delivery capabilities • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering • Technical Domain: Deep knowledge of main electrical international codes, standards, and best engineering practices (IEC, IEEE, ATEX, etc.). Strong understanding of Power Management Systems (PMS), SCADA systems, network architecture, and electrical field engineering/bulk material selection • Software Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in ETAP and Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL), alongside CAD tools • Languages: Fluent written and spoken English h.📅 Urgent Recruitment & Interview Timeline We are running an expedited selection process for this strategic deployment.
