Senior Software Engineer (Observability) Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (Relocation support provided) 🇦🇪 Salary: 30,000 – 40,000 AED per month Join a fast-growing cybersecurity scale-up in Abu Dhabi as a Senior Software Engineer (Observability) and own the observability layer behind a global identity platform. You’ll build and run the telemetry backbone (metrics, logs, traces) across cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped Kubernetes environments. The goal is a consistent, vendor-neutral setup that works everywhere without per-environment tweaks. You’ll make sure every service is observable from day one, with solid instrumentation, correlation, and alerting. You’ll also set the standards and defaults that make observability a built-in part of the platform, not an afterthought. Required Experience: • 8+ years of JVM-based production engineering experience (Java 17/21, Spring Boot) • Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry in Java, including SDK/agent instrumentation, Collector pipelines, OTLP, and distributed context propagation • Experience building or operating vendor-neutral observability systems across cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments • Strong understanding of observability as a product: defining SLIs/SLOs, working backwards from SLAs, and designing actionable alerting and error budgets • Experience with New Relic (or similar tools), including instrumentation, dashboards, alerting, and OTEL-based integrations • Proven track record building shared observability frameworks or instrumentation libraries used across multiple teams • Strong Kubernetes expertise with portable observability across AWS, GCP, Azure, and bare metal • End-to-end ownership of systems including production support and on-call responsibility • Ability to turn telemetry insights into engineering standards, defaults, and reusable platform components What’s in it for you? • Ownership of key platform decisions, driving the growth and scale of critical products • Opportunity to shape complex application and infrastructure at scale • High autonomy within a technically strong, collaborative engineering culture • Benefits include Visa & health insurance (for you and your family), and annual flight ticket • Relocation package: flights and one month accommodation on arrival (for you and your family) Why Relocate to the UAE? Abu Dhabi offers an exceptional lifestyle with tax-free income, year-round sun, and a high standard of living.
