Superintendent, Welding

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE Overall responsible for welding of Jackets and Production Decks (PDM’s) Apart from being well versed in the various welding processes, to provide on-site coordination for all phases of work, including planning of consumables, welding subcontractors’ allocation, and detailed scheduling as per project requirements. To ensure projects are completed safely, on time. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Manage the construction day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance to project specification and budget. • To assist and lead a team of welding workers and supervisors in ensuring all welding activities are performed in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. • Lead PQR and WQT for the project by communication with all related stakeholders. • Understanding of welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW. To ensure pre and post heating requirements are carried out based on material thickness, grade, and requirements. • Carry out inspections as well as resolving and monitoring welding and rectification works. • To ensure inventory of consumables is always maintained at required level. • Study construction drawings and plan welding sequence in conjunction with KPI plan. • Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors. • Maintain a high-level control around cost of all construction consumables and equipment utilised during the construction works. • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance. • Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis. • Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problem- solving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues. • Fully responsible for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving target dates. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education • Technical Engineering Qualification. (Diploma or equivalent) • Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferred). Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations) • 3G, 4G, and 6G certified (preferred). Experience • For bachelor’s holders at least 9-15, for diploma holders at least 15+ years of experience in ship / fabrication yards and involved in offshore construction activities. • Experienced in handling offshore related products which are of high value and with technical complexities. Languages • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English Language.

Manage day-to-day welding construction operations for jackets and production decks, lead and coordinate welding workforce and subcontractors, plan welding sequences and consumables, lead PQR and WQT activities, ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, conduct inspections and oversee rectification works, maintain consumables inventory, develop and communicate weekly/three-week look-ahead schedules with subcontractors, manage cost control of consumables and equipment, ensure compliance with shipyard HSEQ regulations and project certifications, ensure delivery of all ITRs through foreman supervision, liaise with other discipline supervisors to remove blocks to target dates.
