Join us We are currently looking for lawyers with 5-7 years’ top-tier post-qualification experience in commercial law and/or technology law, with significant experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of related agreements including but not limited to procurement, partnership, purchase, marketing, software licensing and infrastructure agreements. Working knowledge of AI and IP would also be beneficial. Examples of opportunities include: A 6 month contract in Dubai with an exciting joint venture for a general counsel with in depth AI experience including cloud, infrastructure, and the development of software tools. A 3-6 month contract in Abu Dhabi for a corporate commercial lawyer to join a leading energy business supporting the corporate division in drafting and executing a suite of commercial contracts including procurement agreements, RFPs, partnership agreements and purchase agreements. A 6 month contract for a mid-level technology lawyer with an exciting technology initiative in Abu Dhabi to support on a wide range of IT agreements, such as managed services, solution integration, software procurement and licensing, software development, data storage etc. Our Criteria Successful candidates will: have a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for commercial contracts and/or technology work; ideally have recent in-house legal experience within an established corporate and/or financial institution; preferably have experience in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic; have a desire to take ownership of their career and be responsible for their own professional development and network, proactively making use of any support and resources available; have researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment; have a consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach; and have a practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the region. Ability to draft and negotiate a variety of agreements including procurement, partnership, purchase, marketing, software licensing and infrastructure agreements. Working knowledge of AI and IP would be beneficial. Must hold a practising certificate (or equivalent) entitling them to practise as a lawyer in the region. Ideally in-house legal experience within a corporate and/or financial institution; familiarity with the Middle East and fluency in Arabic is preferred.

Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial and technology agreements including procurement, partnership, purchase, marketing, software licensing and infrastructure agreements. Support on IT-related matters such as cloud, infrastructure, managed services, software development, data storage and related vendor contracts. Work on corporate and commercial assignments for clients in sectors such as energy, joint ventures, and technology initiatives. Collaborate with A&O Shearman partners and support lawyers, leveraging internal resources and training as needed. Manage own professional development and network, and adapt to a consulting environment with flexible working arrangements.
