Cargo Operations Manager Date: 19 Sept 2026 Cargo Operations Manager Company: Cargo Operations Area of Responsibility • Freight Centre All Terminals Purpose of the Job The purpose of this role is to ensure smooth running of all SAS cargo Terminals on a 24/7 basis, to ensure that all transshipment cargo is processed, flights are closed and cargo delivered to aircraft for loading in agreed time frames, to be responsible for all staff that are on duty and deploy resources where needed to ensure smooth cargo operation and to ensure SAS cargo delivers on SLA’s as agreed with airline customers. Key Responsibilities • To manage the day to day cargo operation at the SAS cargo facility and all operational staff on duty. • To ensure that all warehouse functions are performed - Pallet building, import breakdown and correct racking of import /export cargo, storing of special cargoes in line with customer guidelines. • To ensure special cargoes are handled within IATA and our customer standards (DG/HUM/AVI/PER etc) and health and Safety requirements for these cargoes are adhered to. • To ensure airlines SLAs are met – MCTs/Cargo Close out times/any special handling requirements. • To ensure operational staff are manifesting and closing flights out as laid out within agreed time frame. • To ensure Load Control are advised of cargo figures by cargo ops staff within agreed time frame. • To ensure cargo has left the cargo facility in good time to be loaded on to aircraft. • To work with cargo quality team in ensuring all customer issues are dealt with and special instructions as issued by the customer are performed. • To identify problem areas in cargo operation and take corrective action to prevent major disruption to cargo operation. • Any other duties as instructed by your line manager. Key Responsibilities Continued Principal Accountabilities • To ensure all SLAs are met. • To manage all staff on duty while on shift and be responsible for their actions. • To ensure cargo delivered to aircraft in a timely manner so as to avoid delay to depart of flight. • To ensure all staff use equipment in a safe and professional manor • To liaise with Airlines on specific requirements • Responsible for all Terminal 1 operations and staff within this area Note The role defined here is not exhaustive and duties and responsibilities in line with the job function may be added from time to time. Minimum 8 years experience within cargo operations; Minimum 4 years experience at a supervisory level; Minimum 4 years experience in handling of special cargoes – VAL/DGR/AVI/HUM/PES/PER etc; Experienced in freighter and wide-bodied aircraft operations – pallet building/load planning; PC literate (Word/Excel/PowerPoint); Able to work under pressure and deliver on set deadlines; Educated to a graduate level.

Manage day-to-day cargo operation at the SAS cargo facility and all operational staff on duty. Ensure warehouse functions are performed (pallet building, import breakdown and correct racking of import/export cargo, storing of special cargoes in line with customer guidelines). Ensure special cargoes are handled within IATA and customer standards and health and Safety requirements. Ensure airlines SLAs are met (MCTs, Cargo Close out times, special handling requirements). Ensure operational staff are manifesting and closing flights out within the agreed time frame. Ensure Load Control are advised of cargo figures within the agreed time frame. Ensure cargo has left the facility in good time to be loaded onto aircraft. Work with cargo quality team to address customer issues and execute special instructions. Identify problem areas and take corrective action to prevent major disruption. Manage all staff on duty and be responsible for their actions. Ensure cargo delivered to aircraft timely to avoid flight delays. Liaise with Airlines on specific requirements. Overall responsibility for Terminal 1 operations and staff.
