Job Description

The Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Outpatient Department Registered Nurse (OPD RN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients attending the outpatient OB/GYN clinic. The role involves recording patient histories, performing diagnostic tests, administering prescribed medications, and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The OPD RN also assists physicians during examinations and procedures, while operating and monitoring medical equipment as required to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Requirements

UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 2 years.
Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Demonstrable experience as a registered nurse working with low and high-risk women with obstetric and gynecological issues, in an acute setting.
Understanding of professional and current issues in Obstetrics and Gynaecology nursing.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of patients on an ongoing basis.
To ensure that all patients and their relatives are updated regularly with accurate information, presented in a sensitive way and one that they understand.
Respect and protect patient rights, dignity, cultural preferences, privacy and confidentiality, and communicate with patients and families in a clear and culturally sensitive manner.
Maintain ethical behavior, professionalism, integrity and respectful interactions with patients, families and colleagues.
Participate in audits, quality-improvement activities and performance reviews to support continuous organizational improvement.
Follow all relevant hospital policies, procedures and JCIA-related standards applicable to the role.
