Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Accountant to manage financial transactions, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong SAP system expertise, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The role requires proficiency in variance analysis, reconciliation processes, tax filing, and effective communication in both English and Swahili. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Accounting & Reporting • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Ensure timely closing of accounts and reporting of financial results. 2. SAP System Management • Execute daily accounting transactions in SAP (GL, AP, AR modules). • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data within SAP. • Assist in system improvements, troubleshooting, and reporting enhancements. 3. Variance Analysis • Perform detailed variance analysis between actuals and budgets/forecasts. • Investigate and explain financial discrepancies. • Provide insights and recommendations to management for cost control and performance improvement. 4. Reconciliation Preparation • Prepare and review bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations. • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Ensure all reconciliations are properly documented and audit-ready. 5. Tax Filing & Compliance • Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, etc.) in compliance with local regulations. • Stay updated on relevant tax laws and ensure adherence. • Coordinate with auditors and tax authorities as required. 6. Excel-Based Analysis & Reporting • Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data modeling) to analyze financial data. • Develop financial models, reports, and dashboards. • Streamline reporting processes through automation where possible. 7. Accounting Insights & Controls • Provide financial insights to support decision-making. • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with company policies. • Support internal and external audit processes. 8. Communication & Language Requirements • Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders. • Fluency in Swahili and English is required for effective interaction with local teams, clients, and authorities. Qualifications & Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage. • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of SAP ERP systems. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. • Experience in variance analysis and reconciliations. • Knowledge of tax regulations and filing procedures. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.
