Position Overview The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. The role requires ensuring projects are completed within the agreed budget, quality, and timeframe, while maintaining compliance with company standards, client requirements, and relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities • Cost Estimation & Planning o Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts at all project stages (concept, design, tender, and construction). o Advise on cost implications of design changes and value engineering options. • Tendering & Procurement o Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and specifications in line with project requirements. o Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations, conduct tender analysis, and recommend cost-effective solutions. o Negotiate contract terms and prepare contract documents. • Contract Administration o Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. o Assess and certify interim payment applications, variations, and final accounts. o Manage claims, disputes, and contractual correspondence in coordination with legal/management. • Project Monitoring & Control o Monitor project progress against budget and provide regular cost reports to management and clients. o Track material usage, labor costs, and subcontractor performance. o Identify risks, prepare mitigation strategies, and ensure financial control of the project. • Collaboration & Reporting o Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between design, cost, and schedule. o Provide strategic advice on financial feasibility and project viability. o Prepare and present commercial reports, dashboards, and recommendations to management and clients. Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS, CIQS, or equivalent) is an advantage. • Minimum [5+] years’ experience in consultancy and/or contracting roles, with exposure to large-scale projects. • Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract. • Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Primavera, MS Excel). • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under pressure.
