Senior Procurement Engineer (MEP Construction) Job Title Senior Procurement Engineer -MEP Construction Experience 10–12 Years Reporting To: Procurement Manager / Commercial Manager Job Summary The Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process for materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services required for project execution. The role involves sourcing qualified suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining project budgets, and coordinating with engineering, planning, and site teams to achieve project objectives. Key Responsibilities • Manage the complete procurement cycle from material requisition to purchase order issuance. • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on technical and commercial requirements. • Obtain competitive quotations and conduct commercial and technical bid evaluations. • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and contractual conditions. • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and Subcontract Agreements. • Develop and maintain an approved vendor database. • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and maintain supplier scorecards. • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers. • Resolve supplier-related issues regarding quality, delivery, and commercial disputes. • Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, and Site teams to identify procurement priorities. • Ensure timely procurement of long-lead items to avoid project delays. • Monitor procurement schedules and align deliveries with project requirements. • Follow up on material approvals, technical submittals, and shop drawings when required. Achieve procurement cost savings through effective negotiations and sourcing strategies. • Prepare comparison statements and procurement reports. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities. • Ensure compliance with project budgets and procurement KPIs. • Monitor supplier delivery performance and take corrective actions when necessary. • Review supplier and subcontractor contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or MEP related discipline). • 10–12 years of procurement experience in construction, MEP, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, High Rise buildings or infrastructure projects. Skills • Strong negotiation and contract management skills. • Excellent knowledge of procurement procedures and supply chain management. • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Odoo ERP, or similar platforms. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting. • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement packages simultaneously.
