Role We are looking for a Software Development Engineer – DevSecOps to join Zscaler's Central DevSecOps team. In this role, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and abilities to CI/CD platform operations, infrastructure automation, and secure delivery engineering. You will build a strong professional reputation while contributing to the team's growing AI-assisted DevSecOps capabilities. Your work will directly strengthen the engineering delivery backbone that helps Zscaler protect millions of users worldwide. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) - CI/CD Pipeline Development & Maintenance: Under general supervision, you will implement, maintain, and document CI/CD pipeline components in GitLab CI—delivering clean solutions for well-defined tasks such as pipeline templates, runner configuration, and artifact management - Infrastructure Automation & IaC Fundamentals: You will develop and integrate infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts using Terraform for well-defined provisioning tasks, following the guidance and architectural patterns established by senior engineers - AI-Assisted Tooling: You will contribute discrete, well-scoped features to AI-assisted DevSecOps workflows (e.g., pipeline triage helpers, notification enrichment, or structured output integrations within agent systems) designed and overseen by senior engineering partners - Platform Operations & Observability: You will assist with day-to-day platform operations by monitoring CI/CD system health, triaging known failure modes using established runbooks, and proactively identifying and escalating problems before they impact our global engineering teams - Security Controls & Compliance Fundamentals: You will implement well-defined security controls within delivery pipelines—including secrets hygiene, dependency scanning steps, and RBAC configurations—adhering closely to team standards and established security patterns Who You Are (Success Profile) - You Think at Scale: You connect your day-to-day work to the larger company mission and think globally.
