Role We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our team. This is a Hybrid (Bangalore, onsite 3 days a week) role, reporting to the Manager, Engineering in the Engineering department. Joining our backend Datapath team, you will help enhance our services and global footprint, enabling organizations worldwide to harness speed and agility through a cloud-first strategy. What you’ll do (Role Expectations) - Design, review, and execute system, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) tests for various backend datapath components - Interact across multiple stakeholders and product management to understand customer use cases and upcoming features - Contribute to developing automated functional test cases, build test infrastructure for product needs, and mentor junior engineers - Proactively monitor various cloud components while troubleshooting and debugging cloud incidents - Develop and maintain the automation framework using modern tools to enable automation and scheduling of network security products Who You Are (Success Profile) - You thrive in ambiguity. What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) - Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain - 5+ years of relevant experience in test automation within a networking or security environment - Extensive hands-on experience designing and developing automation frameworks using Python - Experience designing and executing comprehensive test plans for distributed systems, AWS, GCP, Active Directory, IDPs, and VPN clients - Proficiency in network and security protocols like TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, along with troubleshooting and analyzing logs using Wireshark or TCP dump What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) - Experience leveraging AI-driven testing tools, AI copilots, or machine learning frameworks to optimize test automation efficiency and predictive log analysis in cloud environments - Knowledge of system load and performance testing alongside experience setting up testbeds in a virtualization environment using Terraform and Ansible - Professional certification in any cloud, networking, or automation domain #LI-RM6 #LI-Hybrid At Zscaler, we are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve a
