The primary responsibilities include managing financial transactions accurately and delivering high-quality customer service. The role requires adherence to standard operating procedures to minimize financial discrepancies and losses. The assistant is a vital front-line representative, tasked with upholding the brand's reputation by ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. Additionally, this role contributes to the overall customer service objectives of the store by maintaining orderly checkout areas and effectively addressing customer inquiries. What You Will Do: Financial - Receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits following SOPs. - Compute and record transactions, ensuring 100% accuracy for all register transactions. - Count and record the float before trading begins and upon close of trading. - Handle cash safely and maintain the custody of collected cash. Customers - Ensure company’s customers are well-attended to and their needs are satisfied. - Work efficiently and effectively to minimize queues. - Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas. - Ensure and maintain adequate stock of printed stationery at required stock level. - Represent the IKEA brand at the required level. - Maintain store standards to the required level. Required Skills To Be Successful: - Effective communication skills. - Analytical skills for transaction accuracy. - Mathematical skills for handling cash. - Organizational skills for stock and queue management. What Qualifies You For The Role: - High school diploma is required. - Background in Commerce or Accounting is an advantage. - 1-3 years of experience in handling till transactions. - Familiarity with computer use.
