## Description

Sofitel Dubai The Palm

Respond promptly to guest calls and departmental work orders (e.g. HotSOS); give priority to guest-occupied rooms and villas Carry out first-line repairs across trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, minor carpentry, locks and general maintenance Perform scheduled plant room rounds, recording readings for chillers, AHUs/FCUs, boilers, pumps, water tanks, pools and generators Monitor the BMS and fire alarm panel; act immediately on alarms and escalate to the Duty Engineer as needed Act as a member of the emergency response team: fire, flooding, power failure, lift entrapment and gas leaks Check public areas, lighting, signage and pool and beach equipment during rounds; fix or report defects Carry out preventive maintenance tasks assigned by the supervisor during quieter periods Issue and follow permit-to-work and lock-out/tag-out procedures; supervise contractors working during the shift Complete the shift log and give a clear handover to the next shift, including open jobs and recurring issues Record energy and water meter readings and support Planet 21 sustainability actions Be courteous and discreet with guests when working in rooms and public areas Follow Health & Safety, Dubai Civil Defence and Accor standards, and keep tools and the workshop clean

## Requirements

Diploma or technical certificate in electrical, mechanical or HVAC engineering, or equivalent trade qualification Minimum 3 years' multi-skilled maintenance experience, ideally in a 5-star hotel or resort Practical knowledge of electrical systems (LV), plumbing, HVAC and building management systems Familiarity with fire safety systems and emergency procedures Good spoken and written English Computer literate; able to use the maintenance system and shift logs
