Job Title: Senior Construction Engineer - Structure
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.
Job Purpose
The Senior Construction Engineer (Structural) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all structural construction activities at the project site to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedules. The role includes managing contractors, subcontractors, and site teams during the execution of structural steel and civil-structural works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all structural construction activities, including structural steel erection, equipment support structures, pipe racks, platforms, buildings, and associated civil works.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and work procedures to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and Commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor site progress against approved schedules and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure construction activities comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes, and company procedures.
- Manage subcontractors and construction manpower to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, safety, and productivity.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues to minimize delays.
- Review and approve work permits, lifting plans, risk assessments, and construction methodologies.
- Participate in site meetings and provide progress reports to Construction Management.
- Ensure proper implementation of quality control requirements, including inspections and testing activities.
- Support construction completion, punch list clearance, and project handover activities.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture on site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering certification is an advantage.
- Membership in a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management and supervision of structural works within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Offshore industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior construction engineering role on major EPC projects.
- Experience working on ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Onshore, or Middle East oil and gas projects is preferred.
- Extensive experience in structural steel erection, heavy lifting operations, fabrication, and installation activities.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (AISC, BS, Eurocode, ASTM, ASME, ADNOC Standards).
- Familiarity with construction management software and planning tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and construction procedures.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, welding requirements, and inspection processes.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations applicable to construction sites.

## Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering certification is an advantage. Membership in a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
