## Description

Role Description The Design Director at Opa Supermercados will lead the overall design vision for stores and brand touchpoints, ensuring consistency across architecture, interiors, signage, packaging, and visual identity. This part-time, hybrid role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the flexibility to perform some responsibilities from home. Day-to-day tasks include managing design projects, supervising internal and external design resources, and developing creative concepts that strengthen the Opa Supermercados brand. The role involves overseeing store layout and environmental design, reviewing construction drawings, and collaborating with stakeholders to align design solutions with business objectives and customer needs. The Design Director will also establish design standards, guide product and packaging design, and ensure that all design work meets quality, budget, and timeline expectations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Management to lead projects, coordinate teams, and maintain design quality across multiple initiatives.

• Candidates should possess Branding skills to develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity across stores, marketing materials, and product presentation.

• Candidates should possess Architecture and Construction Drawings skills to guide store layouts, review technical documentation, and collaborate effectively with architects and contractors.

• Candidates should possess Product Design skills to influence packaging, in-store displays, and customer-facing product experiences.

• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

• Experience in retail, supermarkets, or commercial environments, preferably in a leadership or director-level design role.

• Ability to work in a hybrid setting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and collaborate with cross-functional teams from operations, marketing, and merchandising.

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical design solutions.
