## Description

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, high availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.

• Design and manage PostgreSQL High Availability using Patroni, etcd/Consul, HAProxy, and PgBouncer.

• Implement and manage PostgreSQL backup and recovery using pgBackRest.

• Manage MySQL High Availability using Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC).

• Perform database replication, migration, upgrades, backup, and restoration.

• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.

• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Implement database security, access controls, and compliance best practices.

• Automate database administration and operational tasks using scripting and automation tools.

• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and business continuity solutions.

• Troubleshoot database incidents and ensure timely resolution of production issues.

• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and recovery plans.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL administration.

• Expertise in PostgreSQL HA architecture:

• Patroni

• etcd / Consul

• HAProxy

• PgBouncer

• Strong experience with pgBackRest for PostgreSQL backup and recovery.

• Experience with MySQL HA and Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC).

• Strong knowledge of database replication and synchronization.

• Experience in database migration, upgrades, backup, and restoration.

• Strong knowledge of performance tuning and optimization.

• Experience with database monitoring, security, automation, and troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of DR, HA, RPO/RTO, and database recovery strategies.

• Good Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in database administration, with strong enterprise production experience.

• Experience managing highly available and mission-critical database environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.

• Relevant Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Linux, or cloud certifications are a plus
