## Description

Job Summary

The Consultant Paediatrician is responsible for providing specialized medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of paediatric conditions while ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and family-centred healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic medical conditions

• Provide outpatient and inpatient paediatric consultations, treatment, and follow-up care

• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with other medical specialties and multidisciplinary teams

• Monitor child growth, development, immunization, and preventive healthcare needs

• Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with patient safety, clinical governance, accreditation, and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) with recognized postgraduate specialization in Paediatrics

• Recognized specialist qualification or board certification in Paediatrics

• Valid SCFHS professional classification and registration as a Consultant Paediatrician

• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience meeting Consultant classification requirements

• Strong experience in managing acute and chronic paediatric conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings

• Hospital experience with a strong background in multidisciplinary patient care is required
