Role Description The Procurement Engineer – Electrical is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi. The role involves sourcing and procuring electrical materials, equipment, and services in line with project specifications, budget constraints, and quality standards. The Procurement Engineer will prepare and review technical and commercial quotations, evaluate vendor offers, and negotiate terms to achieve optimal cost and value. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with project, engineering, and site teams to forecast material requirements, tracking deliveries, and resolving procurement-related issues to avoid delays. The role also includes maintaining approved vendor lists, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations, preparing purchase orders, and updating procurement records and reports for management review. Qualifications • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and equipment commonly used in MEP projects, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Proficiency in procurement and supply chain processes, including vendor sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order management. • Experience using ERP or procurement software, and competency in MS Office applications for reports, tracking, and documentation. • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and cost-control skills, with attention to detail in technical and commercial evaluations. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, project management, suppliers, and site teams. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage. • Previous experience in MEP or construction projects in the UAE or GCC region is preferred, with familiarity of local codes and standards. • Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
