## Description

Role purpose

Represent Major Developments across all projects and maintain consistent Civil quality control, inspection follow-up and readiness for the next activities. Carry out regular field inspections and coordinate the three Civil package engineers, contractors and consultant so material issues, defects and missing approvals are resolved and reported clearly to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.

Site supervision and quality inspections

• Maintain the Civil inspection and action plan across the projects, with named engineers, assigned areas, inspection dates and interfaces for slabs, piling, foundations and blockwork.

• Walk active sites regularly and verify workmanship, materials and area readiness against approved drawings and specifications. Follow issues in the field as well as in the registers.

• Check drawing revisions, material approval status, inspection and test plans and method statements with the package engineers; flag work using superseded drawings or unapproved materials.

• Track work and material inspection requests, consultant comments, test results and hold point releases. Follow overdue inspections and missing evidence before work is concealed or advanced.

• Maintain a consolidated Civil nonconformity and defect register, assign action owners, track due dates and verify closure through reinspection and consultant acceptance where required.

• Check contractor progress by area against the agreed programme and short-term work plan. Highlight quality constraints, access issues and dependencies affecting the next activity.

• Coordinate joint Civil and MEP readiness checks before concrete pours, wall closure and trade handovers. Confirm outstanding issues are resolved or formally addressed by the authorised parties.

Materials and testing

• Maintain Civil material and testing registers across projects, including approved submissions, delivery inspections, traceability and failed or missing test results.

• Compare inspection evidence with the approved acceptance criteria and escalate recurring failures to the QA/QC Manager; follow approved corrective and preventive actions.

Assigned areas and daily tasks

• Agree the daily inspection priorities and site visit schedule; allocate areas and tasks to the Civil package engineers and identify critical releases due.

• Walk priority work fronts and hold brief coordination discussions with the contractor, consultant and MEP representatives to close location-specific issues.

• Update inspection, defect and readiness trackers, check overdue actions and follow contractor progress and the next activities for each assigned area.

• Issue a concise daily cross-project report covering inspected areas, unresolved defects, blocked work fronts, action owners and decisions required.

Coordination and defect closure

• Support the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager with a single view of quality, inspection status and contractor readiness across both projects.

• Coordinate package interfaces and request clarification of drawing or specification conflicts; route technical changes to the appointed designers and consultant.

• Check readiness at handover from piling to foundations, structure to blockwork, and blockwork to subsequent trades, with traceable inspection and defect records.

• Follow applicable RAK Municipality and master developer inspection requirements through the consultant. Escalate unsafe conditions and recurring quality failures using project procedures.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant building construction experience, including UAE site quality inspection and coordination responsibilities.

• Demonstrated knowledge of reinforced concrete, foundations, blockwork, materials, testing and trade handovers; experience coordinating several work fronts or sites is required.

• Ability to manage inspection and nonconformity registers, interpret drawings and follow contractor progress. Developer-side supervision or Ras Al Khaimah experience is preferred.

• Strong Excel and reporting skills, working knowledge of AutoCAD, clear English communication and the judgement to prioritise inspections and escalate unresolved issues.

Expected deliverables

Daily cross-project quality and readiness reports; weekly Civil quality summaries; inspection and material trackers; testing and defect closure registers; area handover records; and action lists showing owners and target dates.

Authority and reporting

Provide daily records to the QA/QC Manager and progress or readiness updates to the Project Manager. Work within the developer’s delegated authority and project contracts. Formal design approval, statutory submissions, certification and contractor execution responsibilities remain with the appointed parties.
